How many times have you been there, driven past the center, or stopped in en route to Makapu’u or Sandy’s to grab some snacks and beer and never wondered about the history of this area? Founded in 1950 by the Hind family, Aina Haina was dairy country long before it became residential development of homes and condos. The shopping center is the site of Hawaii’s first McDonald’s, established by the late Maurice Sullivan, founder of Foodland. Oh and parking is available at the venue with additional parking at Aina Haina Elementary and Holy Nativity Schools. Enjoy!
