Life is Good – I Wanna Be a ‘Shroom

In this TED video, a provocative theory is posited by artist, Jae Rhim Lee, addressing decomposition and remediation of toxins in our bodies after death. Why?… to end recycling of toxins that return to the environment when our dead bodies, full of toxins, are buried or cremated. Ms. Lee has designed a “mushroom death suit” that contains mushroom spores she’s cultivated for the purpose of devouring the body and the toxins it contains, particularly BPA and PCB, chemicals all of us seem to carry along with 217 other toxic chemicals. Our human bodies are storehouses for environmental toxins that get recycled back into the landscape. Ms. Lee’s very fascinating idea may make good sense. Anyone for a mushroom omelette?
