It is a sad moment in time. Uncle Boyce Rodrigues has passed. Uncle mentored me when I thought I could not move back to Hawaii and his loving kindness, humor and wisdom taught me what I’d forgotten those many years away from home. He will always be alive in our memories and our recollections will forever be ones of happy joyous times. He was as irreverent as they come. He was a truly humble and proud Hawaiian who was as friendly to outsiders as he was adamant about local folk’s rights to these islands. He was flexible, tolerant and never prejudiced. He was a fine musician, a teacher, and such a rascal. He was a great man who was loved by many. Aloha e Uncle B… we will think of you with love.
