An Evening of Sustainable Cuisine highlighted the best of local products and sustainable wines and cocktails hosted by the Halekulani Hotel with Architectural Digest providing some impressive guests. Here are glimpses of interviews with two world reknown talents at the forefront of green sustainable design — landscape architect, Andrea Cochran and LA’s (by way of London) interior designer to the mega-stars, Martyn Lawrence-Bullard.
Again mahalo to Chef Vikram Garg and Chef Mark Freischmidt from the Orchid; Chef Roy Yamaguchi of Roy’s; and Chef Ed Kenney from town, joined local girl turned New York’s hottest mixologist known for her innovative and culinary approach to cocktails, Julie Reiner (founder of Lani Kai, Clover Club and the Flat Iron Lounge) that evening in a tribute to supporting local growers, green vintners (such as Gold LEED recipient, HALL vineyards).
Sustainable living means harnessing technologies of our day while utilizing renewable energy sources, and supporting local resources such as Hawaii’s farms, restaurants, merchants, small businesses and native arts and culture. They are intrinsic to preserving and sustaining our unique Hawaii lifestyle.
