Petition Background

Companies like Monsanto have been using Hawaii as a testing ground for their genetically modified organism (GMO) experiments. Due to Hawaii’s remote location and year-round growing season, these companies believe we are the perfect place for these tests to occur because if something were to go wrong, its effects would be contained here. If you are opposed to this kind of genetic experimentation on the food we eat, and seeds that find their way into the atmosphere being distributed without our knowledge, click to this link. It is a petition signed by thousands of people who oppose the state of Hawaii being used by genetic engineering companies who profit by genetic testing crops grown in Hawaii. If you are unsure as to where you stand on the GMO issue in Hawaii, click to other stories and interviews on PacificNetwork.tv. We will continue to post information and resources as we learn more about the issue. http://signon.org/sign/ban-gmo-test-crops-in?source=mo&id=63799-6361845-FZ_fOxx
